Update on the number of cameras!

July 28th, 2011

It’s now a little less than 6 weeks away from our first photography workshop!

We put out the request last week for point & shoot cameras, with the hopes of having enough for our class of 15-20 kids from the local group of students in Sulaymaniyah, northern Iraq. We’ll be collecting more than 20 cameras, because kids will be using these used cameras for three months. Realistically something is going to get lost or broken! We may as well be prepared for that.

To date, we’ve got 14 cameras on their way! Thanks so much for your help with this. Please continue to spread the word… there are thousands (maybe hundreds of thousands?) of forgotten point & shoot cameras taking up drawer space. Send those cameras on an adventure!

We’re also looking for SD cards, and scholarship funds. Keep watching this space for updates. You can contact us at cameras@theoneshotproject.com to find out more about making donations.

Thank you again for your support!
